About Me
Breanne (Bre) Biondi is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. She received her PhD in Health Services and Policy Research from the Boston University School of Public Health, where she was a NIDA T32 Pre-doctoral fellow. Her research interests include substance use, pregnancy and postpartum care for people with opioid use disorder, access to medications for opioid use disorder, carceral system health, and Medicaid policy.
Bre's dissertation examined the impact of extending postpartum Medicaid from 60 days to 1 year postpartum among women with OUD - a group at high risk of poor maternal outcomes, overdose and overdose death, and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection and resultant liver disease. She received a competitive pilot grant from The Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV (CHERISH) to support and disseminate her dissertation research.
